Just watched Ne Zha 2 and was thoroughly impressed. The visual effects are spectacular. The humor resonates with both Gen Alpha and older audiences, and the heart-wrenching moments had many moviegoers in tears. My only minor critique is that Ne Zha's parents flying around felt a bit far-fetched without a clearer explanation.
Overall, the plot challenges some of our fundamental beliefs, and the movie significantly threatens established studios. I foresee its commercial value extending beyond Ne Zha to the Fengshen Bang and Journey to the West franchises. It remains to be seen whether the production crew can surpass their current work.
For now, well done, China production!
