Really disappointed. I had such high hopes after hearing about a reboot and the director say this would be a faithful adaptation of the series.
They did do justice with set pieces and
Easter eggs for fans. However, how can you claim to be a diehard fan of the source and let Leon be a bumbling idiot. I mean asleep at the desk when a freaking semi truck crashes and blows up in front of the station. Plus where are all the cops a huge building and only 8 cops.
Then for the most part the monsters just show up one by one and then thereโs a ton. The police station has a ton of zombies show up but the rest of the streets are quiet?
The cop car at the mansion looks like it was shredded by something but we never see what. There seemed to be more zombies in the mansion then in the city. None of the secret labs ( no NEST ) were shown to explain where the mutations came from, except for Birkins tiny lab. The licker just happens to be in the orphanage where thereโs no people?
There was just to much story to combine Re1 and Re2 into one movie, a lot of what made the games great was left out or rushed. I know this was a harsh review but I have been waiting so long for a good RE movie, canโt they just do an adaption of the first game. Hell S. D. Perry wrote a novelization ( Umbrella Conspiracy) of the first game and it was awesome.
