Okay, so, the movie didnโt entirely flop, so, congrats on not sucking ass Disney.
*This does have spoilers, so itโs your fault if you wanna keep reading.*
Let me get to the point and say that, yes, the writers decided to be stupid and do a couple of dumb stuff with this movie. Iโll talk about what I hated about the movie.
First, I NEED to talk about the change in characters, especially Jumba and Pleakley. The duo that I absolutely loved in the cartoon as a little kid. Was Disney high when they decided to make Jumba a heartless American asshole or something? He looks right at Liloโs family stuff from her Mฤma and Pฤpa and you know what he says and does? He obliterated that stuff and gave her a lecture why family sucks. Wow, they did our big Russian guy wrong. And Pleakley? He was treated like crap and was a third wheel the entire time, even though it was just them TWO.
And David, first 2 seconds he was first shown on camera, he acted and looked like a creep. But donโt worry, he and Nani made out and kissed on camera.
Third, Cobra Bubbles. Instead of being the caring Social worker as he was in the cartoon, he only cared about catching Stitch just so then he could have credit. He REALLY made me pissed. But he was caring at the end and acted like LILOโs dad at the end, so thatโs nice.
Finally, Gantu. Heโฆ heโs not even in the movie. Yeah, thanks Disney.
Second, I have a little problem with the ending. Remember the main thing about this movie? The only Hawaiian word we know about and its meaning? Ohana. It was executed very well and I liked it. But then the random aunt says, โnah, itโs better to care about yourself. Screw that and go to collage Nani.โ And she did by leaving Lilo with the neighbors to go to collage for Marine Biology. But she borrows a Portal gun from Pleakley. Yes, Pleakley, because Jumba was a narcissistic asshole and was taken to space jail, yay.
And thatโs all the problems I have with it which is suprising, because I had very low expectations for this movie due toโฆ ughโฆ Snow White.
But everything else is amazing, like the little girl that played Lilo. Every time she squealed and screamed and was grinning ear to ear, I felt more happiness than I had all year. And Stitch, *chefโs kiss*, did amazing like last time.
Plus, they did pretty good with the other aliens from the giant mothership. That lady Voldemort was pretty funny for some reason and I liked her a bit. Plus, Iโm a sucker for those Star Wars Velociraptors and Iโm happy and satisfied they didnโt forget those lil soldiers. Unlike Gantu, which Iโm pretty salty about still.
But besides, the movie was pretty or really good and Disney said had more chaos and good moments, and they did. If you watched this movie as a kid and want your kids to watch the real life one, I highly recommend it along with the cartoon. But if they question Jumba at all, just say that Disney doesnโt always have its magic.
