This would be a good read for young generation of Sindhis. This book is a collection of memoirs from the generation of Sindhis that witnessed life changing events of partition. If any of you resent not asking enough questions to your grandparents on how they migrated, settled in a new land and coped up without any resources then go grab a copy of this. This book will answer a lot of those questions. The contents of the book sometimes look scattered but still it is written in an easy to understand lucid manner. The book covers how life was in Sindh prior to partition, what prompted Sindhis to cross the border and how they found their feet in the new land without much support from government of the day. The book lets you understand the Sindhi psyche and also ponders over the question Why our grandparent's generation never spoke of the loss, pain and hardships that followed migration. The best part is that the book at no point evokes any hatred due to events that lead to and followed partition. It concentrates more on how Sindhi community dealt with the situation and eventually flourished in every nook and corner of not only India but complete world.
