Janaka and ashtavakra - A journey beyond is a book which talks about a legend of unheard and less known segments of The Epic Ramayana.
The retelling of stories revolves around four segments Mithya, Samsara, Sankalpa and Maya in the book. The story takes place before the marriage of lord Rama and Mata Sita. No one can Stop themselves intrigued by a tale of a father who is having a turmoil of bad dreams and a sage who attended the higher spiritual and knowledge, wisdom and enlightenment finding his own father and how their fates ended up with each other. The conversation or interpretation between the sage and King Janaka were based on Ashtavakra Geeta.
It was a journey of enlightenment, consciousness, emotional wealth and life philosophy for king Janaka amidst the war situation in a State. Everything made him realize the things he needed to understand and the sage became his light. Training the mind of the king and taking him to the realm of spirituality is brilliant, the author beautifully conveyed the message with details.
Book is a blend of philosophy, spiritual and ancient knowledge with thought provoking tales.
The research part, character building and narration by the author was commendable. The only thing which I find a little bit less engaging is that the story movement is pretty slow but anyhow it manages to keep you engaged.
The mythological and religious buffs you must read this one. You're gonna love this interpretation and work of brilliance by the author. ❤️
