This is the first time I've been disappointed by a movie with Jack Black. While I appreciated the smaller references to the game, it was quickly overshadowed by an underwhelming performance from Jason Mamoa and other main characters (except Danielle Brooks). Side characters were amazing but you can't expect them to carry a movie that should have been either fully animated or live-action, not both. Was this produced by a Disney Exec prompting AI with the Cliffnotes because the comedy was overdone, leaving little to no room for an actual story. Side note, I challenge you to look through the 5 star reviews. Can you find a single one that isn't a copy-and-paste starting with "Absolutely life changing".
