I know it's long, but the show has a lot to offer
This was a wonderful show and great for most. This show has so much complexity due to its characters. Every character brings a different aspect of how the story makes you feel. I can't say there is even an overall feeling since there are just so many to experience in this show. I HIGHLY recommend adding "The Witcher" to your watch list.
I haven't read the books yet so I can't say that the original fans are going to be satisfied with it... BUT from a new fan, this show was incredible. If you like fantasy shows(and the occasional horror, episode 3) with magic(but not silly magic like Charmed) this is the show for you! The Witcher's camera crew and actors are the best I've ever seen. Sure there are the occasional few who aren't as good but the rest were cast perfectly. The realization that hits you in the middle of season 1 is WOAHHHHHH! You'll just love how they put together all 3 character's stories and their emphasis on how those connected through Destiny will always find each other. There is also a love story for those who are interested.
DISCLAIMER This is not a show for those who can't handle gory stuff. For example on several occasions when they kill someone, they do so by spilling their guts out(which you do see and I personally didn't like those parts but they are short and you can close your eyes). There are also quite a few nude scenes so think of that what you will.
With the horrors of the show, there also come lighthearted moments with a kind of singer sidekick character. After times of trouble, he'll cheer you up.
For those who are English majors or like character development, you can really see into the depth of Gerald and Yennefer's personalities and the difference from their outward persona to their own feelings, which adds to the overall complexity of the show.
All in all, I recommend this show for most everyone and I hope you enjoy it.
