I have never heard about this horrible mistake even though my father was born in Denmark and I had relatives living in Copenhagen when this happened. I think military mistakes are often shoved under the rug, so to speak, because it is bad for the morale of the military and the people they are supposed to protect. I had bad dreams about this after watching it the night before.
