When I started watching this documentary it was presented as though the story would lead somewhere but it never really did. What obviously started out as a bit of a premise about a guy charging people a fee to unclamp vehicles parked on private property quickly dissipates into the film maker desperately trying to find people to tell intriguing stories about the main protagonist. It seems that the motivation for making this movie was the film maker's irritation at being charged an excessive fee for parking for which he embarks on a rather laborious and pained journey of muck raking that fails to uncover any significant criminal offending and goes as far as hounding members of the protagonist's family who all tell him to go away. It seems that perhaps there was an initial investment of capital in the project and the film maker felt compelled to finish the project despite the total lack of anything 'newsworthy'.
The film maker ends up coming across as increasingly desperate as he interviews people with an axe to grind who make rather vague references to the subject of the documentary in negative contexts. It is quite frankly surprising that he managed to get an hour and a half worth of footage to sell to Netflix.. I'm guessing there will be a 'Making of Mister Organ' coming soon, whereby audiences will get to watch all of the outtakes of the phone conversations with people who clearly have lost interest in this story and hope that the film maker will move on from his obsession with this rather bland plotline.
