Instead of coming up with something fresh and new, it's the same old, tired, depiction of a black family full of secrets, shame and trauma. Nothing is left to the imagination. Same old dialogue. Same old script. A hot mess.

This movie was soul stirring. It was not just about the Hip Hop scene or rap music movement in India, it was a universal story of hope. It is a quintessential story of a young man defying the odds and his relentless pursuit of chasing a dream to do what he loved. The main character, Murad, pushes against cultural, religious and familial norms, taking the audience on a journey that is gripping, compelling and awe inspiring. Although music and Hip Hop is his passion, it is his view of the world around him and the power of his own poetic pen that ultimately leads him to a destiny even he never expected. Gully Boy is epic. It is a jewel of a movie and breathtaking to watch on the big screen. Produced by Nas, the music, the cinematography, the poetry and the cast make this movie a masterpiece.
