I really enjoyed this film. I’m a big fan of all the Captain America films and this one, introducing Sam Wilson as cap on the big screen was a really great way to say the MCU is back. It had the same grounded (as grounded as you can get with superheroes) serious feel that the captain America movies have always had. My real only gripe with this film was the amount of screen time given to Ross. If the audience had been ignorant to the fact that he’s the red hulk then it would’ve worked, however the trailers and posters spoiled what could’ve been a great reveal. It felt like the movie tried to introduce too many characters at once. Sabra was laughable a horrible character that could’ve been scrapped very easily as she added nothing to the narrative. I wish more time was given towards Sam and his backstory, something even the falcon and the winter soldier failed to touch on. Anthony Mackie did a terrific job and the action sequences had me at the edge of my seat. The final battle was savage until the end where we get that black widow hulk moment but with Sam and Ross. Great movie though 7.5/10 would watch again.
