Spencer Whitmer

I’m just gonna start out by saying this movie has lots of points which were honestly super funny and has what is perfect for a Barbie movie. The main problem I had with this movie is that it’s a Barbie movie trying to tackle tough issues about society and does it in a very harsh way. The movies main goal is to teach you that matriarchy is perfect and patriarchy is horrible. I don’t think a movie that comes out in 2023 should have to teach that patriarchy is a bad thing. Of course it is. On the other hand matriarchy being taught as what is needed seems silly if everyone is really “equal”. Also throughout the whole movie every main character is super shallow and it was hard to watch at points. Is this movie didn’t try to be super serious it would’ve been perfect. Still had lots of fun seeing the movie just disappointed about the plot as a whole.
