Aside from an overly complex plot and unbelievable situations, my main gripe was that none of the Scottish characters had the speech patterns of real Scots (like me, for example).

Overly long and tediously repetitive, it's of help only to those who have stumbled around ignorant of capitalism all their lives. For anybody else seeking how to "abolish" it, it's useless, as the author has no more idea of how to do so than my cat.

Though I love Joaquรญn Furriel's acting, his complex roles sometimes have to work in messy scripts. In The Son I quite frankly have no idea of what the events mean. The direction leaves the "is he psychotic/there is a wicked plan afoot" dichotomy unresolved. I can't be bothered with this. Maybe it appeals to the Argentinian love of psychoanalysis but it doesn't appeal to me. I want a clear resolution.
