I recently watched the new Superman film and, unfortunately, found it disappointing. It seemed the filmmakers were trying to appeal to too many audiences at once introducing elements like a dog to attract animal lovers and adopting a cartoonish visual style seemingly aimed at children. As a result, the storyline felt disjointed and difficult to follow, especially for those who arenโt deeply familiar with the Superman universe.
Additionally, Superman himself didnโt embody the heroic qualities we've come to expect from the character. Instead, he appeared emotionally unsettled, which may have been an attempt to highlight a more human side but it wasn't clearly developed or effectively communicated.
As a longtime fan, I went in with high hopes, but this interpretation fell far short for me.
