A highly improbable film set mainly in a courtroom, in which the judge clearly favours the prosecution case, any amount of unevidened speculation is permitted and both sides present evidence in court not previously disclosed to the other side, which defies legal conventions. A murder conviction is a distinct possibility in spite of the paucity of evidence to support it. The dog gives an Oscar worthy performance, however.

Excellent film. This has everything, it's tragic, funny, deep, political, absurd and beautiful. If you get a chance to see it, don't miss it. You won't regret it.

Just watch. Don't read the premise. Don't read the reviews. It's a great film ๐ฅ with a clever script.

Not much good at anything. The film is a simple linear narrative. There's little character development, no sub plots, the script isn't particularly clever. These were feared gangsters but the film isn't really frightening. The Kemp brothers, Billie Whitelaw et all do well with a poor screenplay and unimaginative direction.

The film features some of the best British talent, and deals with a number of important themes and issues. The acting performances are good, the dialogue clever and interesting, and there's a great soundtrack. It just doesn't add up to a good film

Basically the lead character makes keys and when he has made enough he and two other people escape from prison which you always knew they would. This is no "Shawshank Redemption" or "Midnight Expesss", and it says little about apartheid, prison conditions or any number of other things it could have addressed. The cast are alright and the script and cinematography are ok but it doesn't amount to much overall.

Marie Curie discovered lead, rather than Polonium and Radium if this tedious, heavy handed, linear and literal film os anything to go by.

A very watchable film, part comedy, part drama, but wholly relevant to our troubled times.
