I had convinced myself I wasn't going to see this out of frustration over the delays & doubted anything that had "been in the can" that long would be on par with some of the newer titles. I also had a lot doubt after seeing how high some of the initial "critics" reviews were & had honestly wrote this off as a Tom Cruise swan song for his sycophantic groupies. I was wrong on both accounts. The movie holds it own, with just enough acknowledgment to the previous film to reward original fans without alienating new audiences. The movie itself was visually stunning and the reintegration and sequencing of the soundtrack was the "cherry on top". This will be the film to beat for 2022...and the bar is pretty damn high.

Despite the wait...it was well made and did a great job solidifying backstories and fleshing out the origins of the character. I really enjoyed how other characters were allowed to take the spotlight on certain scenes if it was in the best interest of the storyline.
