Although there are those (very few) who disagree. It is a perfect ending to what I consider to be one of the most visually stunning and well developed anime of all time (in my opinion). It does what very few anime do; and that is to bring closure to what it started. It is a completed story.
It is the culmination of all the previous character development, story development, and intertwined relationships that come together to bring the story both substance and meaning.
If you are new to Violet Evergarden, be sure to watch the anime series first followed by the earlier movies. This movie is intended to be the last installment for this title.
The entirety of Violet Evergarden is wholesome and relatable. It has a slow easy pace that exercises the "less is more" approach. It tries its' best not to waste dialog and to make each scene meaningful. This series is definitely worth the watch.
