Best & Most realistic sports simulation game/experience : in short, if you're upset about nba 2k20 it's because you probably don't play basketball or haven't ever played ball before; in short 2K as a company has no choice but to continue to evolve into a more and more realistic game. Listening to a community of users that are mostly gamers is smart (business-wise) because that's where half of their income/profit comes from... but it doesn't seem like they're selling their brains out as a company in order to please The Crying Geek.
Gamers will always buy their games, criticizing them without ever knowing why the heck any changes were made.
Thanks to 2k, you actually gotta learn a NEW game play...
And it does feel like real basketball. I'm pretty sure some sorry youtubers will hack the hell out of the game to find some new "combo, mortalcombat-style" to try to win in the ugliest fashion ever... But if you are an avid basketball fan, this game will blow your mind away. I have played professionally , and most gamers have not budged from their parents' couch. I hope that the next step is to teach 2k league players some basketball knowledge, the fundamentals we teach kids (not so difficult) in order to make the 2k league an example for all gamers in terms of gameplay and iq.
I2k geeks think 2k will steer their entire strategy and vision in a direction to please them, but 2k can't do that... Or they'd end up selling arcady games to a small portion of people... In chasing pure simulation, they'll alaways keep acquiring new fans, basketball fans and new gamers alike.
It's a 9/10.
UPDATE: 1) There has been issues with the myplayer mode, where you played games and did not get any XP in return - but in less than 48 hrs this problem has been resolved with latest update - on xboxone.
2) The gameplay is just the best gameplay out there. For all game modes, you must play at the game's pace - which means that you can't just play it as you did previous years. Footplanting is so realistic, that if you know what you are doing, you'll understand which way (left or right) you gotta attack the player guarding you. This works for guards, and for bigs, but because of the game's new physics, you gotta do it wisely.
What is ultimately missing for those who play Mycareer mode, is the possibility to run plays - proper plays from a playbook, on a 5 against zero basis in order to memorize them with your friends/teamates. A five against zero where you can share the ball and set plays, communicate and work on your screens, cuts and so on...
Ps: there are no bugs regarding gameplay... Some for instance don't understand how a player may be looking away from their defender... Well if you press Lt, your player will evidently turn to face your matchup... But if you just stand next to a player, choosing not to press Lt... That means your player won't be locking them down, and you will have more freedom to move around. .. Just like in real life, you can anticipate/pretend you are taking this or that stance, to give the impression you are looking away from the ball or may be on your way for a swtich.
