This film tries too hard to wedge itself into the Maze Runner / Hunger Game template. It’s painful to watch the many cliched and predictable plot line. Even if the acting was decent, which it’s not, this film is still a snoozer.

The character development is excellent. You are taken behind the curtain of the lives of the main characters and get a glimpse of who they are and why they are. I was not familiar with these actors but their talent in bringing their characters to life is undeniable. I, like many others, suffer from super hero fatigue but this show assuaged that fatigue. I wasn’t expecting much from Supacell, so to say that it exceeded my expectations is a huge understatement. I was drawn in and after one episode found the show to be binge worthy.

The show tries too hard to be quirky and likable. By “The show”, I mean the Elsbeth character. Elsbeth is so annoying that you hope she’s wrong in her attempts to solve the murders even though it’s quite obvious who dunnit. I can not see myself investing an hour a week into this show.
