To me it seems as though they had taken all the cinematic parts of a Resident Evil game and edited into a series show.
Spoilers
Over the first four episodes the stakes seem to have deescalated from the White House being under siege to a speech that could impact global relations. From people being turned into zombies to Jason threatening to show himself to the world to instill fear.
Some of the mystery elements felt like there were spoon fed, I never asked the questions myself. Jason's experience in Penamstan was depicted in out of sequence flashbacks. Naturally the question of what really happened would come up.
What I would like to know is how the child who is mute managed to survive. He drew a depiction of an outbreak he had witnessed. DIdn't they blow that place up to control the outbreak? Would be interesting to see what he had gone through from the outbreak to the place being blown up. In some situations him being mute helped him survive, while in other situations he could have been saved or received helped from someone else if he could just speak.
