so I have mixed feelings about this film... I'm not a super hero fan where the plot is always the same... this isn't Guardians of the galaxy with 5 stars or Deadpool... the original film was a dud... remakes tend to falter at the box office but I really like Pedro Pascal... he is a wonderful actor... but he can't overcome the same old same old plot... there was no reason to make this film... and it wasn't so fantastic...

what a wonderful reminder of what good writing does to create warm and loving characters that seem more like family than actors playing a part... the journey we've shared with this film series is what great film making is all about...bon voyage...

Your favorite cgi dinosaurs are back... too bad Chris Pratt and Bryce Howard arent... the heart of the franchise is AWOL without them... this crop of dinosaurs is underwhelming... this is the weakest film of the franchise... the plot is a retread... you expect Scarlett Johansson to be good but her charater is stitched together without any cohesion... or good dialogue... it seems the script wanted to check all the boxes to make her believable but she's not... still crowds come to see the dinosaurs... cgi is a 4... the dinosaurs are ok but the plot is weak and drags... the ending is sophmoric... and the rest is a 2... oh well we don't get to have everything... I've watched it twice and it doesn't grow on you... too bad...

this film is unusual in its take on the AI robot's rebellion against its master... it's a fun romp of mayhem that grows on you... I saw this when it first came out but didn't do an initial review... I needed the clarity of time to voice an opinion... and a revised slughtly higher rating... it's a film noir with a wicked touch of irony... yes it's formulaic... but it's done nicely... and the perfect murder goes awry...

ZERO STARS ok... the premise is nice... the initial visuals are art house not hollywood... the pace is excruciatingly slow... Demi Moore is excellent... it is mystifying how the script won an award at any film festival unless it was the only entrant... the problem is while it is intentional that the visuals border on sleaze... and minor male characters are presented as baffoons... how can you take any film like this seriously?

ZERO STARS it's a bad omen when one minute into the film you instantly dislike a main character because of his smile... type stereocasting usually means a subpar film hammered by a poor script... here technobabble abounds... inane babble is interspersed with snow scenes.... little thought was given to characterization other than techno people are an embarassment of indulgence and wealth totally lacking any depth... that gives you a rating of ZERO ... avoid this mess...

don't get too excited... this a remake of the brilliant 5 star film Alien... Alien had great fully developed characters... even the minor characters were given time... Alien had star power with Sigourney Weaver... it was a novel film with good action sequences and real foreboding... Romulus isn't that film... yes it has great action and really nice cgi...but that's it... even its scenes are duplicates of Alien... Romulus fails when compared to Alien...it's just not as good... watch it then go back and watch Alien again...

absolutely brilliant series... the lead characters have superb chemistry in this romance crime thriller.... the series is faithful to the books...great direction and scripts that will throughly immerse you into the characters and the series... Strike and Robin (Holliday Grainger and Tom Burke) are two star-crossed lovers who can't quite connect and you're hoping they do... this is one series you'll want to stream on HBO again and again.... it is an absolute joy... don't miss this series.... season 7 should air on HBO in 2026... the stars have committed to film all 10 novels... a rare occurrence over so many years...

what a mess.... obscure miniscule characterizations.... dialog suppressed by noise ( probably a blessing).... decadent obscurity as in the party scenes and images the audience can do without.... I'm not prudish about nudity in film but the director crossed a line here... all this in the first 15 minutes.... shock value for the sake of shock... a guttural sense of morality more akin to a circus sideshow instead of a serious film... yes comedy or farce should be done seriously.... this film is haphazardly done at best... I do commend the director for the old time film experience... that was good... a joyless piece of macabra... break out the Golden Raspberry Awards for worst picture.... worst screenplay... worst sound... That's the first 15 minutes.... my advice... arrive late to skip the mess and enjoy the ride when the real movie arrives....

having watched this film 4 times since my original 3 star review... I've changed my opinion... this film gets better with each viewing.... The pretentious art of gastronomy is highlighted here where a Michelin star chef offers a course of revenge on pretentious diners who can't appreciate his craft.... having dined at a few ostentatious restaurants I can appreciate some diners who are disappointed with small servings that don't resonate with their pallets... I'm reminded of a Woody Allen line of a diner complaining about their meal and ending their complaint with "And the servings were so small." here the chef takes it to the extreme with a horrid dark comedy of bloody revenge.... it's not your average horror story... but it is so very unique....
