Well, if you have any knowledge of the history of the Napoleonic wars this movie will be 1hr 58mins of your life you will not get back! The acting was flat and wooden to say the least, the cast consisted of aging English period drama actors and not a hint of a French accent! Watching ships and soldiers explode during wars scenes when struck by a solid steel cannonball, obviously to appeal to the action movie hungry US audience, frustrated me! The entire movie lacked depth and authenticity..very disappointing as I had reasonably high expectations being a Ridley Scott fan! Joaquin Phoenix playing a boring version of the Joker..hmmm, I don’t understand why he is rated so highly!!! Skip the movie and take the time to read a book!
