original review - "under 5 gig size. tiny. did I say tiny? tiny map. no abilities. no breeding. can't even explore the whole city until much later in game. 60 bucks. Cool new battling style. the exploration you can do is fun. did I say 60 bucks? Sure did. this would be cool for maybe 34.99...Been playing since red/blue. This is my least favorite Pokรฉmon game. That being said i do enjoy playing it. Still feel ripped off."
Okay first review was 3 stars. I've upped it to 4 because I was confused with the pacing of the game. Legends: Z-A is the slowest first 5-6 hours of literally any game I've played and by FAR the slowest most hand holdy intro to any pokemon game I've played, which is about every single one minus Dungeon and GO. Compared to Arceus the first 5-6 hours felt like a prison and was barley enjoyable to me. However, that's an acceptable amount of bullshit for ME because I'll put in 1000 hours between releases on almost any Pokรฉmon game. This is a quick "think on your feet" completely unique Pokรฉmon game that has stolen this old PokรจVet's heart. After the painful and arduous beginning the game quickly opens up and there is always something fun to do between side quests, dex filling, and main story events. A whole new and fun method to catching and battling. Where it lacks in macro aesthetical value it makes up for in fine detail with the small things. But I'll never forgive them fully for those first five hours I can never get back. It was painful, almost made me quit, and should have been handled differently and still a little disappointing for 60+ American bucks. So 4 stars.
