One of the best recipe books I’ve ever read. It’s brilliant. There’s so much humour, goodwill and gorgeous food to read about. There aren’t many recipe books out there that make me really want to cook the food that they describe, but this one hits the button. There are ingredients ( tripe for one) that you might not want to think about having a go with, but there’s loads in there that you will.. think crumpets with a Lancashire cheese sauce and slapped under the grill, the best recipe ever for crème brûlée. And there’s funny, real-life anecdotes from the world of posh restaurants and fine dining. This book is fabulous.
