It is an example of what many poor Japanese parents had to do to survive. It was a shame that these girls of poor backgrounds were not only whipped and treated inhumane
but they were turned into prostitutes. I am sure this happens on many other countries. We as women have more freedom in the USA. If God was a female would this stop ?
