Okay, so music and individual tastes are always subjective. I think that the majority of critics are either looking for something not to like or just pompous twits who take themselves way too seriously. With that being said, I really like this record a lot. On the initial listening I discerned that there was indeed something special about it. So, I was compelled to give it another spin.
That’s when I realized that it’s treading into brilliant territory. It’s mature and beautifully melodic with lots of catchy hooks and harmonies. I’ve never really been a fan of this band before because I thought that they were too simplistic and regurgitative. This is toe tapping and uplifting. If you like joyful music that makes you feel good listening to it then you have found a keeper. It’s got a vibe and complexity that makes you want to hear it again and share it with others. Isn’t that what makes good music special in the first place?
