Any true fans of the series will see the incredible attention to detail and faithfully adaptive style as a near-perfect homage to Neil’s original vision. Of course, there are artistic differences chosen throughout in terms of casting, relationships, and storylines, but nothing that detracts from the plot. In fact, I think these small changes help elevate and lift the story from the pages and into a more inclusive world made to mirror our own. For anyone reading, take any reviews that complain about racial or LGBTQ+ diversity with a big grain of salt. Those people don’t care about how those minorities are portrayed, they just don’t want them included at all under any circumstances. They refuse to see the world as it really is, in its myriad different shapes and colors. Can’t wait for season 2!!
