This movie is by far one of the worst movies i have watched. Laila Majnu may look like a tragic love story, but it actually feeds into very harmful ideas. The film shows Laila as a woman with little say in her own life. Ignores her suffering and resistance while glorifying his. Meanwhile in the beginning of the movie - Majnu’s constant stalking, ignoring her disinterest in him and his unhealthy obsession are painted as signs of “true love.” This makes harassment look romantic instead of problematic. The story turns toxic behaviour into something aspirational. Such portrayal is dangerous because it normalises exactly the kind of mistreatment that is unnacceptable. Besides the story line is very predictable and boring. I REALLY hope you dont waste your time.
