This movie never showed any black solldiers receiving or sending letters. When the soldiers begin to receive letters they only showed White soldiers receiving letters. And white families recieving letters from white soldiers.
Also the dialogue was poor, and the opening war scene reminded me of the A-Team television show.
During the scene When the racist general confronted Kerry Washingtons Character about opening "White soldiers letters" I thought how would he know they were white. Considering all soldiers, no matter their race wrote home!!
This was her opportunity to let him know this fact.
But the movie failed terribly here, for Blacks, Japanese, Korean, Native Americans all fought and wrote letters. Some of those letters the six triple right processed, too bad this movie failed in this regard to bring this fact to the fore,
Bad directing!!
