Evicted: Matthew Desmond wrote this book from his soul. Not every writer has that privilege. When reading, I felt every human need of each character searching for shelter, food, or protecting their children from the evil environment. Poverty hovers over in every city, town in our society. It does not discriminate.
Aileen is a mother of two boys, struggling to keep them in the same school at least for one month. She is fighting for that hope of a better day. Poverty is no dream. It is a destroyer of a person's highest hopes. It is one of the companions of mental illness regardless of age.
Truly, Matthew Desmond has earned professional credentials and wards.
Truly he deserves. As I read, the last portion of his book" About the Project". He displayed an "integrity" that no other writer could contain. He communicated, and lived with each person daily. And he saw the struggle ad felt their pain.
