The film October leaves you with a feeling .A feeling that penetrates deep into your heart and enters your soul without any sound . Quietly it creeps in through your veins and makes you numb .Just like the character SHIULI your body experience a sudden stillness .The film will make you question about the purpose of life and scratching your back it will ask what is the true essence of love is it a definition of longingness or a state of ecstasy . Since I saw it's trailer I wondered why is the film named OCTOBER . Well after watching it I felt no other word could describe the exactness and the content of the film. October is the season of fall likewise human life is mortal , we bloom and we fall meanwhile life happens . The film is beautifully scripted by Juhi Chaturvedi and obviously the realist director Shoojit sarkar brings out the story in such a way that it directly touches heart . OCTOBER encompasses the feelings of life . An unsaid affection is amazingly portrayed by DAN ,i.e Varun Dhawan. Through the film one must be wondering the reason of DAN'S empathy towards SHIULI as there was nothing between the two characters ..they didn't even exchange a formal hello but on hearing that the last word of SHIULI Dan somewhat lost his consciousness and developed a selfless affection for her and unknowingly he felt something which was indescribable as when his mother asked is she your girlfriend DAN didn't reply no . On the other hand the calm and composed south indian girl named SHIULI played by Banita Sandhu was extremely fond of Oleaceae (shiuli flower) and every year she waited for October to arrive so that she could collect and smell her favourite flower . What's tragic is her life too reminiscences the flower shiuli .She too fell down one night but didn't loose her breath she kept surviving untill one day her essence faded and her heart gave up just like the flower which falls down and still smells heavenly but gradually it looses it's smell and ultimately decays . Another significant role was of SHIULI's mother . Being a single mom of three young kids and a professor of IIT she symbolised extreme strength and courage . She could'nt show her weakness she hid her pain in her eyes and told DAN to focus on his life at such a crucial point of time when he stood as a support to her family . Geetanjali Rao 's excellence is perfectly highlighted in the movie . Another impactful character was of DAN's mother .Her conversation with Shiuli's mom literally pierces into the nerves The film slowely carved a masterpiece . Each nuances especially the theme song by Shantanu Moitra is soul stirring . This film is bound to calm your mind and refresh your soul and leave behind a trail of feelings which will keep you numb for a while and introspect your existence .
