A movie you should watch with unflinching attention, "Popcorn, Monkey, Tiger" comes across as a slick and stylish action-packed thriller, which explores the undesirable underbelly of the society in multiple dimensions. With Tarantinoesque non-linear storytelling, walk and talk style cinematography, clever use of cutaway shots in editing make this movie a uniquely technical endeavor in the Kannada movie industry. The director keeps the audience engaged by weaving multiple parallel story tracks, which eventually merge to create a result that is greater than the sum of its parts. If only some rough dialogs, blood, and gore were toned down, it would have appealed to a larger base of audience. My guess if just as the movie "Om" started a new trend of realistic thrillers in the Kannada cinema industry, this movie, if successful will engender a new style of storytelling which is offbeat, bold and modern.

This movie transcends the plot, the characters and any other attributes that can be rated or reviewed. It crystallizes a grand message for the masses about what is dharma and why it is our responsibility to protect it. The professional liers (also called as movie critics) are going to rate it low. But no-one cares about them anyway.
