I tried to watch this with an objective mind. I realize that TV adaptations of books are extremely hard to do and therefore at times liberties are taken. They being said, the series is trash. As a fan of the series, I was horrified at how it was written. For the reasons listed below, and then more, I can't in good conscience say the accurately captured the heart and soul of R Jordan's book. Seems to basically be a repeat of GoT. Had a great concept and then found totally wanting. Finally, why are shows only producing 8 to 10 episodes a season now???
*Spoilers*
1. The fact Perrin had a wife and Rand and Egwene were hooking up, while weird, I could accept that. However, Perrins wife never said a word there and Perrin should be burler
2. The so called breathtaking visuals was nothing more than CGI on steroids. The Fades should be scarier but they look like cheap Worms from Tremors in a human form.
3. The story just got all kinds of garbled in the first 3 episodes. It swept along and didn't have the richness of the books in there.
4. Moraine and Suian didn't have a lesbian relationship. Honestly, that was just a bit of a bone toss the the LGBTQ community. I have nothing against the gay community but it wasn't necessary to write that in there and that never happened in the books.
5. So we just not gonna show Elyas and explain why Perrins eyes are gold? How wolves helped him with the Whitecloaks? We not gonna introduce Hopper? What about the other characters like Elayne, Elaida, etc.?
6. I'm fairly sure that traveling wasn't a thing until Rand rediscovered it and then gave it to Egwene. So how is there traveling in the first book?
7. All of them went into the Blight to help Rand fight Ishamael. Additionally, the Green Man should have been there but was conspicuously absent.
8. Pretty sure that the Eye of the World was a pool of pure Saidin. Not the symbol of the Aes Sedai. Instead in the show it was a seal.
9. Moraine wasn't cut off from the Source in book 1 so how is she supposed to assist anyone like she did up to the 9th or so book?
10. There is no male character development here. Instead you have the men behaving like some kind of ill mannered men who are the stereotypical brawn over brains. Purposely kept any growth to the women and didn't show what Matt, Rand and Perrin were each thinking and helping to develop them.
