The Federal Government's announcement regarding the replacement of the Liddell Power Plant with a gas-fired power plant is not the full story. The closure of Liddell was announced about 5 years ago and since then the local industry has made arrangements to replace the loss with renewable energy sources, keeping prices fairly stable; a gas-fired plant is now unnecessary and redundant and it is suggested by energy experts that it's construction will actually drive prices up, since there will be surplus and it will drive the market offshore. A bit more scientific digging and a bit less quoting of the ignorant slow-moving (misleading) government would stand TODAY in much better stead. As for the jab, I am 61 and feel like I am expendable in the eyes of this government. I have studied viruses and immunisation at the post-graduate level and know that Astrazeneca is a second-rate product whether it causes clots or not. I want an mRNA vaccine and will not be forced by "the Bully from the Shire" into taking a dud jab. Mrs France Laurenson, Bachelor of Science (UVIC 1985)
