Mediocre movie from a so so bookโฆ
I red the book few years ago and found it a self celebration of a medium level soubrette trying to get the last spotlight. Besides that, the book portraits a world which is actually whatโs interesting in the whole story of Pablo Escobar - a non repeatable reality from another world. In the movie this part is totally lost and so misses all possible appeal. Spanish actors speaking in English is an awful way to give the Latin American touch: rather you make them speak Spanish or you go for full English. The story of Pablo in the book is in the background in the book so it is in the movie, but here we also miss Virginia Vallejo part. Result is an empty movie. I didnโt give 1 star because of Bardem part: he is great also when playing cheap roles
