Gamefreak has continually made it clear they do not care for their fan base. The game overall seems like a rushed cash grab rather than a well thought out and polished game. The overall positive response from "professional" reviewers has me question their credibility with a lack of objectivity or comprehension of the minimal Pokemon retained in the game. When I learned of the new Pokemon game I was very excited, and hopeful of a beautiful console game. The lack of transparency from SaSh showed gamefreak was not proud of their product. The inevitable leaks from the game showed me that they were out of ideas, quality, and overall interest in the consumers satisfaction. Being a long time Pokemon fan I will continue to play the older games but give Sword and Shield a 1/5. I'm sure new gamers with no history of Pokemon will be impressed by the flashing colors and gimmicks. But I believe this is a betrayal of a good franchise. I hope gamefreak learns.
