I grew up reading Archies comics, so when I first heard Zoya and Netflix are making Archies movie in Indian setting I was sceptical, I think the star kids in movie were mainly to grab headlines, but I watched it mainly out of curiosity as to how they will fit into an Indian setting and I must say the premise of story setting was really good. The performance of star kids are passable at best but I liked the way the characters were treated and kept almost authentic to the comics so kudos to that, for me the main stand out performance was from the guy playing Reggie, it was slightly different from the comic character but essential to the story.. the musical songs were ok at times and at times I just fast forwarded it, but overall a good movie for someone who knows Archies comics.. definitely not a masses movie, it would have bombed in theatres mainly because the story will not have mass appeal, but for Netflix this is a good addition. Edit: I saw suhana getting criticized for her role which is unfair, portraying a snobbish character like Veronica is always difficult and she did a good job of keeping true to the character, it would have been difficult for anyone to portray the character especially in an Indian setting and folks who did not read original Archie comics may not understand it..

I will say it's one of the better live action adaptation and I'm glad Netflix did this. Just done watching season 1 and it's impressive, it's lacking the some of the humor and craziness of anime and manga which is expected given how vibrant one piece is and story takes some liberties compare to original story but the main plot points thankfully remains same and all the major characters in East blue are covered with some originality as well. It's a little serious adaptation but nevertheless it's still an almost faithful adaptation and onepiece fans will not be disappointed. I for one enjoyed all episodes, Looking forward to S2 (hopefully alabasta arc) and S3 (skypiea arc) as well if and when they do it. Beyond that I think it will be too much to adapt into a live action. Tip for onepiece fans: switch to Japanese dub, so much better

Once in a while you will come across a movie/series which fills you with joy, This is one of those series, just start watching it... This is one of the best slice of life drama (not just romance) it covers aspects of many relationship but the treatment given is so mild and entertaining, nothing is over the top or exaggerated. Finished watching it couple of days ago and this series has given me so much joy.. I'm not watching anything else for some time, you might feel the same too after watching it, as you will want to be in that happy space of mind.. just watch it.. there is so much to love about this series, the location, the characters.. almost all characters have meaningful story arcs.. I would recommend to not binge watch this and just take 1 episode a day, it will be much more enjoyable that way.
