The Shrink Next Store is a deep character study of a guy (Will Ferrell) who inherited his father's business. While he knows the business, he doesn't have the courage or business fortitude to deal with the day-to-day pressures of running it. His sister who helps him run the business and is his only moral supporter and champion, suggests he see a therapist. In comes Paul Rudd, the therapist who injects himself into his patient's life and slowly starts to manipulate him, while building his courage through unorthodox therapy and ensuring no one else takes advantage of him. Ferrell's character goes through a transformation during the first two episodes as he starts to show much-needed leadership with his staff and throughout life. This 4 episode mini-series is based on the podcast of the same name and tells the real-life story of a psychiatrist who actually did these things, violating his oath. Make no mistake, this is a drama, don't expect any laughs.
