Jenny Gates

I do not like this show, and I do like a lot of CW shows. As a person in my 30s, I grew up reading Nancy Drew books. First, what I like: making characters various ethnicities. The CW does a great job with this. I also like the darker edge, and the sexiness is expected as an update. That said, the other changes are ridiculous. George, Bess, and Nancy are not friends, and Bess has a criminal record. Ned has a criminal record and Nancy considers him for murder. Nancy and her dad don't get along, and she considers him for murder. And then, there's the paranormal: this is a horror show. It has ghosts, possessions, hauntings, jump scares, gore. There are no scientific explanations for any of these things. This is antithetical to Nancy Drew. Why not just make a different show if the writers were going to make so many changes?
