Any fan of the books should enjoy this. There are some changes, which is to be expected with any adaptation, but it is actually very true to the books for the most part. I personally love it! I have listened to all of the books on audio and beaten two of the three games. It is definitely based from the books, not the games, so keep that in mind before complaining about Garalt not having cat eyes. I highly, highly recommend!!
