It started as an interesting premise. Finally, I thought, an idea for a movie without guns, fights, strippers or woke issues was refreshing. The eye opening of how art is being manipulated not for the sake of art but rather who tells the best story behind it is insightful. The eccentricity of the “idea” what art represents is subject to those few who influence the primitive rest. lake como scenery was inspiring. However, debicki scares me as an actress. I can’t get over how scary she looks with her bones sticking out as if she’s a victim of some kind of disorder. Not sure if it was intentional in this film. It’s hard to judge on her talent or lack thereof, considering you’re more preoccupied with her appearance and a question: why is she there? Why would an art critic, who was hired to do an illegal act, bring a suspicious stranger with him to be a witness? The fact that he brought a stranger with him on this unpredictable journey makes the main character either dumb or careless. But he did not strike me as either The only insightful afterthought I had following this film is that Art is an absurd game for the wealthy and bored.
