You know your favorite pokemon? It may or may not be in this game. Promised better graphics for the switch which is why you can't have all the pokemon. They are the same graphics as the last generation. The game is a kinda fun, and for a normal pokemon game price I would have scored it higher, but it is $60 now... The same as Horizon Zero Dawn when it came out, and HZD is a vastly superior game still. Pokemon Shield also has expansions coming out, those are expensive as well. But you get access to more of the pokemon roster with them. I have really liked Pokemon in the past, I am just not into this one. I play it... sometimes, for short amounts of time. I bought several 3DS XL/LL units and multiple copies of the game in the past. For over $120+ (the + due to the required monthly subscription so you can transfer pokemon from other games into Shield) in software for Pokemon Shield, I'm just going to stick to the one switch and one copy of Shield. The switch versions of Pokemon games have really been extremely lack luster so far. In game they took away any of the difficulty of the game. You can catch one copy of a pokemon and just change it's nature to what you want with an item. Stupidly they give you TWO breeding locations when you barely need one, which is only useful for two minor things; breeding stage 1 mons that you can't catch, and breeding shiny mons. Training and leveling up mons is easy too. Go to the Wild Area and defeat the red/pink light beam holes. You get leveling items after every fight. You can easily use these items to feed your mons to level 100, especially since the XL versions level mons multiple times per one item. And to easily EV train, you just send them to classes from the Rotom bank's poke-jobs section. I still play but just rarely, so here is to possibly running into you in the Wild Areas of Shield/Sword at some point.
