A beautiful film with an emotional storyline which exposes many intricate complexities of human existence. Two of the songs are unforgettable. I feel the film should have got much more popularity in the box office. Anyone who tries to get into the soul of the film seriously will definitely like it and perhaps even become emotional on watching it. Personally I highly recommend the film.

The show dates back to the epical age, it's relevant in the contemporary context. Karna in this show stands as a symbolic representation of misuse and abuse of talent. No wonder, other characters like Arjuna, Bhima and so on too were equally powerful, but destiny and politics did not act so much against them to to dim their talents as in case of Karna. Karna is a sad representative of many such genuinely talented people who do not reach their deserved positions in life either due to politics of money or politics of reservations. Simultaneously, the show inspires us not to complain about our misfortunes every now and then but to strive to do our best from whatever position we stand in. Hence I admire the show and the thoughts behind it's creation. All the same, there are some objections with regard to the portrayal of Karna. The character has been over exaggerated on many occasions. Every single minute, he keeps speaking about justice and equality to the point of exasperation . He supports the pandavas who don't tolerate him a single bit. He worships kunti who thinks only about her five sons. He foils every plan of duryodhana claiming them to be evil while it's true that it is duryodhana alone who supports him, gives him a voice and the stature of a king otherwise he would have forever remained a sutaputra. All these are highly wierd, and not in line with what has been written in many other versions of the Mahabharata

Diya aur baati hum is not just a TV show, it's a reflection of the deepest aspects of the human life and heart. It's a show that brings tears to your eyes. We hear of wives sacrificing their lives for their husbands , but here is a show where you can see the indomitable sacrifice of a husband which no one can dream of. Sooraj does such a sacrifice for his wife which is exemplary and unparalleled. From the time of fulfilling her dreams of becoming an IPS till the moment of dying along with her, he stays by her side like a firm rock. He is a son, a husband and a person everyone would wish to become. Kudos for the awesome Sooraj Rathi .
