After first watching the Byron Haskins film , first brought me to the attention of H.G.Wells,a truly atmospheric piece of art, the film was based in America. Not what Mr Wells had in mind but a decent attempt and mainly kept to the plot.
Then came Mr Spielberg attempt, disappointing & generally over the top.
Now we have the BBC mini series, which has right era, and location but that was it, didn't keep to the book , extra characters , pregnancies , spinning balls.A very disappointing series with no flow, half hearted attempt to keep to the book.
If only Peter Jackson could make this film, it would be an epic and finally do justice to the first man of Science Fiction.
The only piece that comes close and is worthy of applause is Jeff Wayne's theatre show, 10 out of 10.
