Slowburn, monochrome, eerie, haunting. What's not to like.

Was looking forward to this - but sadly was a little underwhelming. They seem to have tried too hard to make it funny. Not half as good as Cunk on Earth but still good for a one time watch.

A must watch for anyone looking for genuine and authentic story telling. Helps if you are interested in Japanese culture. James Clavell would approve.

Brilliant show, great alternate take on post WW 2 history. Great storyline, complex engaging characters and visually stunning. Gripping and engaging thru the 4 seasons barring the Series finale which seemed a bit rushed and confused. But I would urge you to still watch it.

Terrible story, bad writing, a serious let down. This horse has been dead a long time and no amount of flogging will revive it. Some great stunts as usual but nothing beyond it. Hope they redeem themselves a little in Part 2 and call it quits.

Probably one of the best shows ever made. Reels you in from the first minute and once you're through the 7 seasons, you wonder how you'll fill that empty space. Perhaps read a book.

Must watch. Shocking, stunning and ultimately heartbreaking to see how one man's greed and ambition brought misery to thousands. Bottom line - if it is too good to be true, it most certainly is.
