This play, better known as a tragi-comedy is a play that ends with a happy but a sad ending for the poor Shylock, who is completely ruined at the end after Portia, as A Doctor of Law gives complete justice to her husband Bassanio's beloved friend Antonio. Here, Shylock in this play has been described as a Befuddled charecter to some critics as sometimes he makes comments that his money is more and important to him, but at the same time, he also loves his beloved daughter Jessica. However, when Jessica hypnotizes Shylock and breaks his trust from herself and elopes with Lorenzo taking away all the jewels and ducats, it makes Shylock wish that may her daughter die at his feet and money kept in his coffin..but at the end i loved how it ends givng a strong message in the form of Irony
