If you played the video game, you are basically reading a detailed script. Which a good chunk is almost word for word. If you have not played the game, the book is about an author who is trying to solve a mystery about his missing wife during a vacation. The stuff he writes about he can't remember and also comes to life. Both the game/book are classified as a psychological thriller/horror. Its almost on par with a Stephen King novel.
