For a show titled Batman: Caped Crusader, it’s very apparent that BATMAN is missing from the show. I’ve never watched a Batman show where I truly felt like Batman was a supporting character instead of the main one. The only thing this show has going for it is the art style and the nostalgia it brings of BTAS. That’s it. Other than that the writing isn’t great and each episode feels off with Batman having the least amount of screen time compared to the other characters. He barely talks and it never feels like he’s connected to the villains. Batman is treated as a means to an end most of the time, rather than the star. I only timed episode 7, but for a 24 minute episode Batman was on screen for roughly 3 minutes and 41 seconds, does essentially nothing to move the episode forward and has barely any lines. I feel like that’s the general tone for most of the show. It usually doesn’t start with Batman and he kind of just appears every now and then before it cuts back to Barbara or Montoya who are doing the bulk of the “detective” work. With BTAS you were with Batman or Bruce the majority of the time. He’d usually be involved with the intro in someway (trying to stop a robbery, attending a charity ball, etc.) and be introduced to the villain in some manner, then BATMAN would be investigating said villain (not 4 other irrelevant characters); he’d then fail in stopping the villain, before figuring out a way to succeed in end. You get none of that in this new show. Episode 7 pushed it over the edge for me. Not only was Batman hardly in it, but the audience never sees him figure anything out, he just appears and knows what’s going on or they flashback to something they could have shown. Episode 6 (Night Ride) was easily the best episode and the closest thing to feeling like BTAS. 9 and 10 were better than most, but again, Batman is missing too often to call it a Batman show. If they go through with season 2 I hope they iron out the writing and put more emphasis on Batman/Bruce Wayne and the connection he has with all of the great DC villains.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. This version of zombies is the worst I’ve ever seen. They should have just labeled it as a Halloween DMZ event because that’s pretty much what it is. Such a simple formula and they managed to screw it up so badly. Multiplayer is horrendous as well.
