*No Spoiler Review*
The best film I have watched in 2019. I am shocked at how underrated this gem of a movie is. It showcases real India and its age old tradition of keeping women and especially widows in the heavy shackles of 'colourless' existence. Poignantly portrayed the perils of women from all orders of society - a woman of low caste, a woman who has not yet borne a son, a woman of transgender orientation and then comes the widow, 'piously' stripped of all sensory human experiences.
Strong storyline, brilliant cast and the right blend of 'reality meeting cinema', this is certainly another feather in the majestic cap of Vikas Khanna.
This movie surpassed my expectations and I recommend everyone to watch it.
