John Cho and others do a good job of acting, but the plot is thin with many missed opportunities to cover what has been already covered more in-depth by other, better films. The typical facial distortion gimmicks are pedestrian at best, and the actual motivations and development of the AI aren’t really delved into. Although the ethical and societal questions are touched on to a small extent, you can easily find better find to broach these subjects. If you’re bored and it’s streaming free, it may kill a little time.

Very solid film. Refreshing to see better pacing, dramatic tension and a slow reveal. As others have mentioned, this is the first Predator universe film to stand with the first two (1987 and (1990), although Predators (2010) wasn’t bad by any stretch. A gentle reminder that taking time to present characters and settings is infinitely more beneficial to story development than a CGI orgy upfront. Only criticism is I would have enjoyed a bit more of a final act, but it was satisfying nonetheless.
